Top 3 Fireworks Shows You May Not Even Know About

Events on 4 Jul , 2014

Fireworks 1While some destinations are a no-brainer for fireworks displays, there are some places that are just as jaw-dropping but you probably didn’t think of them for your July 4th travel plans. Shake things up this year and take yourself off the beaten path for some 4th of July fun that will make your friends and family jealous.

Fireworks 2Honolulu, Hawaii

When is going to Hawaii ever a bad idea? I don’t know about you, but the idea of spending the day at the beach, swimming with the dolphins and snorkeling and then relaxing to a stunning fireworks display by night sounds like absolute heaven to me. You can even book a dinner cruise to enjoy the display from the water.

Fireworks 3Addison, Texas

Have you ever heard of Kaboom Town! in the Dallas suburb of Addison, Texas? Me neither.  Obviously many people have, because it is a well-known spot for the 4th of July offering an impressive 30-minute display. The fireworks are choreographed to pop music and there is even an air show afterwards.  Though Addison has a small population of around 15,000, this event brings in about half a million people. Those of us that haven’t heard of it may be in the minority, and it sounds like we’re missing out.

Lake Tahoe, California/Nevada

Watch this breath-taking display as it reflects off the waters of the lake. The American Pyrotechnics Association has rated this show one of the top five displays in the nation and for good reason. Last year the display lasted 35 minutes and drew a crowd of over 100,000 and I’m sure this year’s celebration will be even more spectacular. Get there a day early and enjoy three days of fun from July 3rd through the 5th.

Wherever you end up this Fourth of July as long as there are fireworks, you really can’t go wrong!
